Membership As of today, 83 of our 572 Active members have still not paid their 2025 dues. I mailed out a second dues notice today and ask that these members please submit their dues as soon as possible to prevent being suspended by the NYS FOP Lodge.
Lodge Welfare Please keep in your thoughts and prayers the sick of the Lodge: Chris Fitzgerald, Jimmy Gaynor, Joe Iacone, Vivian Potter, Marty King and his son Rory, Dan Yagos, Jean Nutley, wife of Brian Nutley, and Antonio Fernandez, grandson of Tony Favara. Also, the eight Lodge members who passed away in 2024, Jerry Castigliola, Frank Cimmino, Enrico Cucco Jr., Al Girimonte, Gary Gorman, Ray Leshinger Sr., Ed Patterson Sr., and Richie Rautenstrauch.
Lodge Rookie Club The newest members of the SI Lodge #120 Rookie Club are Hailey Doherty and Lily Zipper granddaughters of SI Lodge #120 NYS Trustee Mike Doherty. Congratulations Mike.
Holiday Raffle At the December membership meeting the following five lucky members were drawn as winners in the SI Lodge #120 Holiday Raffle (blue tickets), Susan Buckley, Tom Debinski, Dymphna Farrell, Joe Iacone, and Dennis McKenna. Each winner received a check for $500. The SI Lodge #120 Executive Board thanks all the Lodge members who purchased raffle tickets.
NYS FOP College Scholarship The NYS FOP Lodge College Scholarship application for the Fall semester of 2025 may be downloaded from their website at nysfop.org The due date for submission of this application to the State is 4:00 pm on April 30, 2025. Due to SI Lodge #120’s financial support of this program, SI Lodge #120 is guaranteed two winners each year, so it is worthwhile applying for your child. In 2024 only three of our members applied and two were winners. The six (6) SI Lodge #120 Scholarship applications will be posted on our Lodge website, sifop120.net soon and are not due for the Fall 2025 Semester until October 1, 2025.
NYS FOP Photo ID Cards The NYS FOP Lodge has photo ID cards for purchase for Active and Associate members. The applications may be downloaded from their website at nysfop.org. If you purchase a photo ID card, you will be writing the check to the NYS State FOP Lodge and mailing it directly to them.
NYPD Department Flag The Lodge has purchased an NYPD flag for display at meetings and ceremonies. We will also lend out this flag for display at the wakes of NYPD members, taking place on Staten Island, if the family wishes. You may contact me at timlounyp@aol.com to arrange for this service.
